Lost Tooth

Tripp lost his first tooth this afternoon while we were eating lunch. It was so exciting (and a little sad). He does not want to put it under his pillow. He said he didn't really need any money right now but my guess is that he doesn't like the idea of the tooth fairy.

They Grow Up So Fast

It seems like just yesterday we were bringing Zoee home from the hospital and now...

Our Week

We had a busy week!

Tripp went on a field trip, I finished editing his yearbook page, we had a great small group meeting, We had a picnic after school, played with friends and I found this cool new effect for pictures. I love it its called 1960's in the picnic editing program. I've been playing with it during my free time.

Here are some pictures I've edited with it. They are some older pictures that I really like.

Tripp got his report card and I loved his teachers comment:

Tripp continues to bless our class with his observations and encouragement. We love our "absent minded professor" even when it means cleaning up pencil sharpener shavings or finding the back to the name plate (worn when he is student of the day...he looses it every time!). His reading and math have really taken off this quarter.

Oh....and we lost Zoee yesterday!!!!

I was grilling some veggies and she was playing with the boys and some of their friends on the other side of the house. I kept running around to check on her. I went back every couple of minutes. Well...2 minutes too late!!!!

She was gone! I asked the kids. They had not really paid attention to everything she was doing so they didn't know. We all started running around the house and yelling fro her. She didn't answer. I went inside and looked EVERYWHERE!!! She was NOT there. I got quite hysterical. My mind went blank. I could not figure out what to do. This probably lasted 3-4 minutes...I mean forever!

I ran back in the house thinking I should call someone (I didn't know who) and when I ran through the garage. The automatic van door opened and out popped her smiling face. She said, "I see loo"

I was soooo relieved!!

We're glad you didn't run away Zoee!!!

She carried her quesadilla (sp) in her mouth and her cookie in her hand for about 10 minutes that day. So funny!

Fun Friday Night

HOORAY!!!!!!

We got a sandbox!

The boys have asked for a sandbox since we had to leave ours when we moved 3 years ago. We finally found one that is big enough and has a cover (lots of neighborhood cats). We spent Friday night putting it together. Everyone had a great time.

Funny Things Kids Say (Do)

• Tripp telling me the story of Jesus calming the waters: "Jesus had been preaching a long time and he was so tired that he and his recycles took the car to the other side of the river to sleep"

Bill lost his wedding band Friday while he was playing tether ball with Tripp's class.

At dinner that night Sam said, "I sure am sad Mr. Bill lost his wedding ring. At least he didn't loose his wife!!!!"

I Love Spring

Winter is almost over (officially)!!!!

We spent the day at the creek by our house. The kids love it and with all the rain we have had it looked more like a river. We played in the water for a long time, long enough for everyone to get soaking wet, and then we hiked around the creek. Tripp and Jasper picked up every stick they could find in anticipation of some great project back at home. Of coarse I was the one carrying them by the time we were finished with our hike. I didn't mind. They were having so much fun. Zoee and Bill took their time strolling around the trails. She insists on walking the entire way by herself.

Tripp has been afraid of the ice cream truck ever since our neighbor told him that they take little kids sometimes. Every time he hears the carnival music coming up our street he runs inside with a sudden stomach ache. So today we decided to do something about it. We bought ICE CREAM!!!

I think he's cured!

We got Haircuts and the Flu

I took a long winter break from blogging. I think mainly because blogging started out as a way to manage my anxiety. It gave me something to do. It calmed the brain chatter that always raced through my head. I am currently managing my anxiety with medication. It is working much better than blogging. Hence the absence.

Anyway...

We had a fun winter. It was so cold and I loved all the cozy fires. The kids got a trampoline for Christmas and not rain, nor snow has kept them from it since. Jumping on the trampoline is also a great cure for anxiety.

The weather is warmer now and it was time to cut off their winter coats. Their hair looks so cute.

We all got the flu the same day!!!!!!
