You give me fever...

104 to be exact! Most of you know I'm a bit (OK a lot) of a hypochondriac. I especially don't like for my kids to be sick and if they are going to be sick please don't have a fever!!! I start pulling out the Motrin and Tylenol at 99 degrees. Fevers scare me! Well yesterday I found myself with a very sick Jasper. He felt so bad and I could not get his fever to go down at all. It made me think about how the Lord is so faithful to allow us to be in scary situations in order for our minds to be made knew. I know that the scary "my child's about to burst into flames" thoughts are not from God. Thank goodness that's NOT how He works or reveals Himself to us. So I concentrated on things that were true. Yes, Jasper had a high fever but other than being cranky he was fine. My kids have had fevers for as long as they have been around and none of their fevers have ever turned out to be meningitis or the swine flu. So as I sat (fully clothed) in cool tub with my hysterical Jasper I was peaceful. The cool tub plus some Motrin finally helped. He is much better today.

Great friends

We had such a great time hanging out with our friends Sat. night. I have known most of them for 6 years (some longer). The Bullards hosted a fantastic dinner for us all. The kids played football until after dark. It was so much fun.

Football

Tripp decided he wanted to try to play football this season. He'll be playing Upwards flag football with 2 of his friends. All of his games will be on Saturdays in October. He is very excited but is also very disapointed that he will not get to wear a helmet.

Bill took the boys outside to practice this afternoon. They had so much fun!

Over the river and through the woods...

We went to visit my grandparents today. I know...the kids look thrilled! but my grandparent (Big and Minnie) enjoyed watching them play.

What do you do with an overly active toddler while your trying to cook dinner?????

Here's our solution!

I begged Bill to hang a swing in our door (it's removable). Zoee loves to swing more than anything else. She walks around the house all day saying, "wing, wing, wing."
Its been a life saver while I'm trying to do anything in the kitchen.

Jasper got in on the action too.

now I just have to figure out a way to keep it swinging.

Snap, Crackle, Pop

Zoee had her first bowl of cereal! She stole it off the table from Jasper. She carried it to her little table so carefully I had to let her try it.

She LOVED it!!!

First weeks of school

Its been a fun first 2 weeks of school. Tripp has really enjoyed all of it. His favorite things are recess and snack! :-) I think he has really enjoyed playing with all the kids. The class theme is "Worship the Lord with gladness!" Psalm 100. They are working on learning their math facts and reviewing all of the letter sounds. In their study of the Bible they are reading about Creation in chapter 1:6-23. They are studying the habit of attention this quarter. Tripp had to recite his first Bible verse on Thursday. He nailed it! "Listen, my sons to a father's instruction. Pay attention and gain understanding." Proverbs 4:1

We have all enjoyed the first 2 weeks of our school experience. It's been fun spending time with Jasper and Zoee without worrying about whether or not I've done enough "school" with Tripp. We can just play!!! I haven't figured out how to fit in naps but we'll adjust eventually.

Spending all this time in the car has proven to be a challenge as well. On Monday I drove over a huge piece of bubble wrap that in turn got stuck to my exhaust pipe (I think). The smell of burning plastic went with us everywhere. I had no idea what was causing it. On Tuesday the lady behind me in the carpool line told me what it was. I had to take it down the street to get someone to remove it. On Wednesday I almost ran out of gas. I coasted in to get Tripp on fumes. Then on Friday, after I picked Tripp up from school, I was cruising down 74 texting a friend (not really) when I ran right into the car in front of me! OOPS!!!! No one was hurt. Jasper and Zoee actually slept through it all. I have a ticket for following too close and a small amount of damage to the front of my car. Hope it doesn't cost too much!

Its not just me with car trouble this week. Bill ran out of gas on his way home Friday and had to walk 2 miles to the gas station!!!!!

Hopfully next weeks travels will be a little more boring.

First day of school

I forgot to charge the battery for the camera so I only got a couple of shots.

He was standing at my bed at 6:09 am with his backpack on ready to go!

I think he got a little upset that I got out of the car to take his picture by the door.

When we picked him up said, "I had way too much fun."

Our neighbor gave Zoee some play shoes.

She has been walking around the house saying, "wee, wow!" all afternoon.

Girlfriend loves her some shoes!

She did NOT get that from me!

Before Church

My friend, Shelli, gave Zoee the cutest outfit. I put it on her for church this morning. She screamed and pulled at it all morning but everyone told her how pretty she looked at church.

As usual Jasper refused to be in the picture. Here's the only one of all the kids :-)
